Dr. Alessandro Galgani is a neurologist who is currently in the first year of his PhD program in Neuroscience at the University of Pisa. He received his Medical Degree from the same University in 2017, and his specialty in Neurology in 2022.
His research interests center on neurodegenerative disorders, with a particular focus on the role of the subcortical nuclei in their pathogenesis and pathophysiology. He adopts a translational approach in his work, combining both clinical and experimental studies, and utilizing a range of neuroimaging tools and animal models.
His PhD project aims to investigate the neuroprotective role of the noradrenergic nucleus Locus Coeruleus during aging and its relationship to the development of Alzheimer’s Disease.
