Gabriele Bellini is a Ph.D. student in the Clinical and Translational Sciences at Pisa University. His research interests focus on the interplay between the gut brain axis, the inflammation and the development of nigrostriatal degeneration in Parkinson’s disease. Indeed, several recent evidence suggests that the pathology could start from the peripheral nerve, rising later to the central nervous system. He is a medical doctor interested in exploring how to counteract or prevent Parkinson’s disease, understanding the pathophysiology evaluating molecular and imaging aspects. Currently, Gabriele is also at the last year of the residency program in Neurology in the University of Pisa.
