Elena Fasil

Elena Fasil is a Biomedical Engineer and she is currently a PhD student in Clinical and Translational Sciences at University of Pisa. Her research activity is focused on the realization of an innovative in vitro 3D organ-on-chip platform, to study and treat sinonasal cancers.

Her PhD project, which she is carrying out at Otolab, in Cisanello Hospital, explores a new microfluidic platform in which seeding and culturing sinonasal cancer cells. She hopes to explore this exciting research to find out possible tumor markers and targeting molecules to better understand the mechanisms related to the tumor evolution, as well as an efficient and even personalized anticancer drug screening.
