Short Bio

Gabriele Masini is a Ph.D. student in the Clinical and Translational Science at the University of Pisa. His research focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of iron deficiency in patients with heart failure. He is interested in assessing the benefit and the safety of oral supplementation compared with intravenous iron supplementation, which represents the standard of care. Another focus of his research is the evaluation of carotid plaque through different imaging techniques. His research aims at identifying the characteristics of carotid plaque vulnerability, which can predict a higher risk of ischemic stroke.
