Marta Bianchi

Marta Bianchi is a first-year PhD student in Clinical and Translational Science at the University of Pisa. Her field of research is Pharmaceutical Microbiology and she focuses on developing new strategies to tackle multi-drug-resistant microorganisms. Currently, she is investigating the potential of using probiotics and post-biotics as treatments or preventatives for multi-drug-resistant infections, particularly in the context of pulmonary infections in patients with cystic fibrosis and infected wound models. Marta holds a single-cycle master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology from the University of Pisa. After graduation, she pursued her interest in microbiology and was selected for a six-month research training program at Archa Laboratories in Pisa.
