Nicola Viola

Dr. Nicola Viola is an endocrinologist who is currently in the first year of his PhD program in Clinical and Translational Sciences at the University of Pisa. He received his Medical Degree from the same University in 2016, and his specialty in Endocrinology and Metabolic diseases in 2022.

His research field is focused on thyroid autoimmune diseases, combining both clinical and experimental studies. Currently he lives in New York and he attends the Prof. Yaron Tomer Lab at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

His PhD project aims to investigate the role iodine intake on thyroid autoimmunity diseases and to define the binding sites of thyroglobulin auto-autoantibodies on thyroglobulin.
